What is a DWC Pipe?
A DWC (Double Wall Corrugated) pipe is a structured-wall HDPE piping system with two co-extruded walls fused into one section:
- A smooth inner wall that delivers low hydraulic friction (Manning's n ≈ 0.009).
- A corrugated outer wall that provides ring stiffness, crush resistance and bending flexibility.
The combination gives the hydraulics of a smooth pipe with the structural stiffness of a thick-walled pipe at roughly one-eighth the weight of equivalent RCC. DWC HDPE is the dominant modern choice for buried gravity-flow sewerage, drainage and cable ducting up to 1000 mm.
